I am sure our Creator God has a sense of humor—just look at this Stalk-eyed Fly and tell me it’s not hilarious!! These photos are from this very morning.
Also on this very morning, I read the following scripture, which I thought was pretty neat, since this is simply where I had left off in my reading:
Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him,
upon them that hope in his mercy . . . Psalm 33:18
Oh how we hope in His mercy! (It is because of His mercy that we are not consumed—Lamentations 3:22) And how we thank Him that His eye is upon us.
Also from this morning’s reading:
The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous,
and his ears are open unto their cry. Psalm 34:15
His eyes are upon the righteous. Who are the righteous? According to the Strong’s Hebrew dictionary, the righteous are those who are justified by God. Those of us who know Him, having trusted Him as the only way of salvation, are declared righteous, and His eye is upon us . . . He knows our needs, and He is ready to hear as we express our heartfelt cries of both praise and supplication to Him. Today I have been praying for several friends here in Togo who are sick, and for encouragement for my Dad, who has some physical needs, and for a friend traveling in the USA on furlough, and for colleagues traveling to & from Togo. I have been praying with our CRC and Print Shop staff for needs for the ministry here: songbooks, New Testaments, tracts, printing supplies . . . thankfully, as our lists go on and on, it is not too much for our awesome Lord, whose eyes are upon us and whose ears are open to our cry.
Have a great week as you depend on His closeness to keep you encouraged.
PS: You can google “stalked eyed fly” to find a video of of one of these tiny creatures emerging and inflating the “stalks” that support his eyes. Usually these videos are evolutionary, but . . . praise to Whom praise is due!!
